It's back by popular demand!

Once again, the Creston Museum is hosting a Found Art Challenge!

This is our way of clearing out some junk from the storage areas - broken, rusty, many-duplicated, and/or unidentifiable artifacts - and your opportunity to exercise your creativity and turn them into a unique piece of garden art.

If you accept this Challenge:

• We will divide our pile of junk into boxes of six to ten objects. There will be grab-pile of left-over objects that you can use too, but you must use all the objects in your original box to create a single piece of garden art.
• The boxes will be available for viewing at the Museum on Tuesday, July 17. You can take a look at them and get an idea of what is available and what supplies you need, but you can't reserve them and the boxes will be allocated by random draw at 9:00 on Wednesday morning.
• You can bring any materials, supplies, and equipment you want to add to your creation.  You can do anything you want with the objects - paint them, weld them, cut them up, hide them within your creation - as long as you use them all.
• You have only eight hours to create your work of art.
• You can work individually or in teams of any size. All we ask is that you register in advance, and give us some idea of the equipment you'll be bringing, so that we can be sure of enough space. (Download registration forms here) Registration deadline is 5:00 PM on Saturday, July 14.
• This is an outdoor event, and will go ahead rain or shine, so bring an umbrella or gazebo if you want.  You can set that up on Tuesday, if you prefer.
• We'll provide drinks and snacks, and you are welcome to bring anything else you want to eat.

Your reward:

Other than the satisfaction of exercising your creativity and having a lot of fun and building something very cool, we are offering the opportunity to have your creation on display at the Creston Museum. We have a big empty space in a flower bed, where we took a large tree out, and we invite you to fill it with your creation (that's why we're challenging you to create garden art specifically).  Alternatively, if you'd like to take your piece home and/or sell it, that's fine, too.
